A Residential Interior Decorator located in Northeast Louisiana

,Jan Hales Strickland discovered her love for design and decorating at a very young age. Traveling abroad and visiting local Museums and homes have always been the source of her inspiration.

Her parents would rent a home in the countryside of England every summer while she was in elementary school. Also, throughout childhood and into adulthood she’s traveled to many different countries.

In high school Jan knew that she wanted to be a designer / decorator. She worked on beach condos and homes while in high school.

For college Jan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The program is CIDA Accredited. Jan was an active student member or the American Society of Interior Designers. She also served on the advisory counsel for CIDA accreditation for the Interior Design program at the University of Alabama.

Jan has been an active Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) since 2010. She has had her own business since 2010. After college she worked at a kitchen design center in Birmingham, AL, Fabric Decor store in Montgomery, AL, and a nationally recognized Antique store in Montgomery, AL.

Jan now has an Interiors coffee table book, ‘Interiors for Living’ that is sold locally and online. Her business is located in North Louisiana. She is proud to have been the lead designer for the Monroe, LA St. Jude Dream Homes for the past 6 years. All homes have sold out of tickets and have raised a total of over 3.8 million dollars towards St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jan has received numerous awards. Jan received the University of Alabama HES Jack Davis Professional Achievement Award in Interior Design, Bayou Buzz Finalist 2020, Bayou Buzz Finalist 2021, Bayou Buzz Finalist 2022, Bayou Buzz Finalist 2023, Top 20 under 40 Nominee for Monroe, LA, Marquis’s Who’s Who.

Jan’s work has been featured in Bayou Life Magazine, Style Me Pretty Living, Cottage Journal (French Cottage), Build.com, HGTV, and numerous others.

Jan resides in rural north Louisiana with her husband Josh, son Jey, daughter Evy, dog Belle, and new puppy Bingo. 

Jan enjoys creating a relationship with her clients in helping design and decorate their homes to be both beautiful and functional for their needs.
